Lead-in:

Do you know him? (《超能陆战队》大白) Do you want a friend like him? Why?

Yes, he is a very good friend. What do you think a good friend should be like? (头脑风暴: I think a good friend should be like...)

Are you a good friend? Do you have your good friend? Usually you and your friend are like this... and this...(出示友好的图片) but sometimes there may be some problems. So you and your friend may like this .. And this... (出示打架图片)

When there is a problem between you and your friend, what would you do?(学生答)

Today, I’ll give you a new way to solve it. It is very useful, because Lingling uses this way to solve her problem. Do you want to know? Let’s find it!

Step 1 Listen and check

1. Lingling wants to speak to Betty/ Mrs King.

2. Betty is in/ out.

3. Betty’s friend / Mrs King’s friend works on the Friendship Helpline.

Now do you know what the new way is? Yes, call the  helpline. Let’s listen again and find how to make a call.

Step 2 Listen and number

  (    ) I’m sorry, she’s not in at the moment.

  (    ) Is that Mrs King?

  (    ) Could I speak to Betty, please?

  (    ) May I have the number?

  (    ) Can I take a message?

  (    ) Thanks so much.

Next, what will Lingling do? Yes, call the helpline. Let’s listen and find what do she and the helpline talk about.

Step 3 Listen and choose

What do Lingling and the helpline talk about?

A. How to form the friendship with her friends.

B. The problem with her best friend and the solution (解决办法)

C. How to solve the problem between her best friend and others

Let’s look at Lingling’s problem first.
